I've heard that little camera is really good in low light conditions, the pictures are really good, maybe you could try one of the new lumix with the optional viewfinder and a good low light lens, but well you are more knowledgeable about this than me.

Hi Jorge,
it is a LX5. I wanted a small cam that I can have with me all the time. It is great actually, but I miss an optical finder.

Great pictures Michael, leica lens gives the lumix more to work with, by the way, is it a gf1, gf2?? I just got one my self (really on sale) I think is better for outside and quick shooting since sometimes a dslr can be kind of noticeable.

It is less about this or that program and more about the workflow as such. If you use the Adobe Suite (Indesign, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Illustrator) +LR on a daily basis, a linux-app does not fit too well...

I've tried Digikam a couple of years ago, but after buying a Spyder3 I decided to go for windows, as at that time Spyder3 was not supported by Argyll (now it is). Now that finally Argyll supports my colorimeter, I started to think about switching back to linux.
So I'm really curious: why do you think Digikam is not up for the real world? (I'm only a photo-enthusiast, and not professional photographer. But still - like everyone - I like to have professional tools as well.)

Sorry to disappoint you, but Digikam after all was no more than an episode. I still use linux (Arch), but not for photowork. In the real (professional) world Digikam unfortunately is not an option. Adobe all the way...

Una disculpa enorme, Jorge...

Sorry for my late answer. I had little time for my blogs. But, running a business yourself, you certainly know how that feels.

The Hensels are performing exceptionally well. I moved the Walimex strobes to the other studio for still shots and use the Hensels for portraits.

I think I'll need at least another six months to get where I want to be. It takes time. Currently I am doing more web-work, combined with some photography. This may not be so close to my heart, but it pays the rent.

Hope you are doing well, hermano! ;)

Billy,
this is good news and makes me smile. I am sure this book will be something you can be proud of. You have photos worth looking at and texts worth reading. You know how I think about it...
I'd love to have one of these 30 first edition copies -with a signature of course!!
And: Liebe Grüße an Lena!
I am okay. I don't shoot as much as I would like to, as building this business means to work on a lot of other not so pleasant things as well, but I consider this an episode. All in all it is more fun than anything else.
If there is anything I can do to help you with the project, let me know!
