Weekend Portraits

Had a nice por­trait shoot­ing for a client this morn­ing — two girls and a guy. I often offer peo­ple who are busy an appoint­ment on Sat­ur­day or even Sun­day. I don’t mind work­ing on week­ends as tak­ing pho­tos is always fun.

And I pre­fer peo­ple to be as relaxed as pos­si­ble. Being pho­tographed of course is kind of spe­cial for some, pure stress even. I try to make the sit­u­a­tion as com­fort­able as I can. It is nice that I have a cozy chill-out-zone right next to my stu­dio, so peo­ple can arrive, sit down, relax, have a tea or cof­fee, a cookie or piece of choco­late — and are not imme­di­ately fright­ened by all the gear in the room next door.

The shoot­ing today was easy — for them and for me. I would not even con­sider it work. Yet it is nice to get paid for it
